Park at a small stoney area by the road. There is no beach at high tide, usually 2.5 to 3 hours after high tide before enough space is available. There is a muscle bed and some rocks which curve around from the south of the parking which can be covered up at high/mid tide. There are also submerged rocks to the north of the spot close to shore. The wind can often by much stronger out in the middle of the lough, particularly when is southerly, than at the parking spot.
